
Niche Events has been operating for 7 years and organises business to business exhibitions and conferences in the specialised security and counter terrorism sector. The company’s aim is to deliver substantial conference programmes, addressing high level strategic issues within the market places that we operate, offer practical and technical information through a variety of seminars and workshops.

TranSec World Expo
In May 2002 Niche Events launched Air & Port Security Expo, which took place for the first time in Germany, December 2003, before moving to Brussels Expo in 2004. Focused on the aviation and maritime security sectors, Air & Port Security Expo grew to become a respected and established event in the global security calendar.
Following the 2006 edition, Air & Port Security Expo was re-launched and moved venue to Amsterdam. Under its new name and improved format, TranSec World Expo 2007 took place successfully in June 2007 and truly reflected all aspects of transportation security including, rail, highway and supply chain logistics in addition to its core sectors remaining as aviation and maritime security.
The next edition of TranSec World Expo will take place 3-4 June 2009 at RAI in Amsterdam and is set to be the best ever with an anticipated record level attendance. To ensure TranSec World Expo achieves this aim it now hosts two high-level Conferences alongside the exhibition with over 40 internationally recognised speakers and support from many of the industry’s key bodies inc. European Commission, NATO, International Maritime Organisation and World Customs Organisation. In addition, TranSec World Expo will have a series of free-to-attend technology workshops and a large-scale exhibition where over 100 dedicated vendors will showcase their latest security solutions.
TranSec India Expo
Following the 5th successful year of TranSec World Expo, in November 2007 Niche Events announced the launch of TranSec India Expo, to take place on 7-9 September 2009 at Bandra Kurla in Mumbai. India is one of the fastest growing economies in the world and its transportation infrastructure is developing at a phenomenal rate. This has been further boosted by upcoming major events including 2010 Commonwealth Games and 2011 Cricket World Cup.
TranSec India Expo will bring End Users together with Manufacturers and Integrators from Aviation, Maritime, Rail and Supply Chain Security sectors. TranSec India Expo will be a multi-dimensional event and like its sister event in Amsterdam and will have something to offer all types of attendees through its conference, specialised technology workshops and large-scale exhibition of security solutions dedicated to securing India’s transportation infrastructure.
Counter Terror Expo
Counter Terror Expo ran on the 10 – 11 February and has firmly established itself as a premier event according to speakers, exhibitors and delegates who flocked to London’s QE11 Centre in the heart of Westminster.
The two-day event broke expected attendance figures by a factor of 50%. In excess of 4'000 governmental, military, law enforcement and business professionals from the UK and Overseas took part in the conference and specialist workshops as well as visiting the extensive exhibition.
The exhibition space showcased the latest in technology and other hardware from over 130 of the world’s leading suppliers.
Due to the success of the event and the high volume of advance exhibitor bookings for the 14 – 15 April 2010 the event will now move to the National Hall at the Olympia Exhibition Centre.

Philip Soar, Chairman, was CEO of Blenheim, the world’s largest exhibition company, from 1989 to 1994. He chairs a number of exhibition companies including Waypoint, Spearhead and Ithaca and also chairs a French/English publishing group Aurenis Eaglemoss s.a. In 1997 he lead the consortium which acquired Nottingham Forest and he is also the official historian of both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. He was Japanese Publisher of the Year in 1991.
Peter Jones, Managing Director, Prior to Niche Events, Peter cut his teeth in publishing and event organisation, for seventeen successful years working with leading media companies including EMAP, Blenheim, Miller Freeman, CMP, Tarsus Group Plc. As founder and acting Group Events Director for TranSec and Counter Terror Expo, today he actively guides the day-to-day management, direction and continued development of the business.
Nicola Greenaway, Marketing & Operations Director: Prior to Niche Events, Nicola has worked for over 12 years within the publishing, exhibtions and conference sector, working with leading media companies such as EMAP, Tarsus and IBE to deliver successful business to business events across a broad range of market places.
